Do you want to know what happens when you pay your domain registration late with certain domain providers?

First, they won’t take your money
Second, they come up with a bunch of expensive charges
Thrird, they won’t release your domain

I’m sure this nets them a lot of cash from people who are in the e-commerce world. But for a personal site like this, it’s more of an annoyance and I suppose a loss of 5 years of SEO building. Oh, well. I’ll just say you may want to Google your next domain provider plus superlatives like S*&^ B*&^ or unscrupulous before entering your next contract.
