Production Sound Report
When working on a production the sound mixer usually submits a report on what the recorded during the days shoot. This is called the sound report.
This sound report is circulated to interested parties who might need the information once files are handed over at the end of the day to postproduction. This includes the loader/DIT, dailies editor, post-production supervisor, picture editor, and assistant editor as well as the dialog editor.
What’s in a sound report?
- The name of the sound mixer and their contact information
- The frame rate assigned in the timecode and bit rate the files are recorded in
- A list of the files recorded and the name of the files
- Timecode start time assigned to the files
- Track names
